Autumnal Wedding at Callow Hall | Dan and Kate

There’s something truly magical about an autumn wedding – the crisp air, warm tones, and golden light create an unforgettable backdrop. Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing a beautiful and intimate wedding in Ashbourne alongside Molly. The day was a heartfelt celebration of love, family, and personal touches, with stunning locations and creative details making it one to remember.

The day began with me photographing Dan, the groom, at an old farm house in the Peak District as he prepared with his best man and family. The atmosphere was a blend of nerves and excitement, with Dan's Air Force background subtly woven into the details, including his aeroplane-themed cufflinks. Meanwhile, Molly captured the bride's preparation, ensuring we documented every moment leading up to their union.

The ceremony took place at Oakamoor Church, which was beautifully decorated with autumnal flowers. A string quartet added to the enchanting ambiance as the couple exchanged vows in front of friends and family. The ceremony, led by a celebrant, was a deeply personal experience. One of the most memorable moments was the ribbon-tying ritual, performed by a close friend of the couple. This meaningful gesture, symbolising “tying the knot,” incorporated ribbons inscribed with words of wisdom from loved ones about what makes a marriage thrive – trust, playfulness, adventure, and companionship, to name a few.

The joy in the room was palpable, with happy tears shed by many. Following the ceremony, we captured some wonderful confetti shots outside the church before heading to the reception.

Wildhive Callow Hall was the perfect venue for this small and intimate wedding. Guests were welcomed with drinks in the garden, serenaded once again by the string quartet. The charm of the venue shone through as the evening meal was hosted in the cosy green room, creating an intimate and relaxed atmosphere. Each place setting featured unique ceramic paper aeroplanes, a playful nod to Dan’s career in the Air Force.

The attention to detail throughout the day reflected the couple’s personalities and their love for those closest to them. Every moment was a testament to their creativity and care in making their wedding a true celebration of their journey together.
