What to Expect
This beginner DSLR photography course in Nottingham is designed for anyone who owns a camera but isn’t quite sure how to use it with confidence. If your DSLR has been living in a cupboard, or you’ve been relying on auto mode because the settings feel overwhelming, this course will help you understand your camera and start enjoying photography again.
Throughout the course, I’ll break down how your camera works, how aperture, shutter speed and ISO affect your photos and how to use these settings together to get better results in different lighting situations.
As well as camera settings, I’ll focus on composition and how to take more visually interesting photographs. You’ll learn simple techniques such as framing and using light effectively to help you move from taking snapshots to creating images you’re proud of.
This is a hands-on photography course, with guided practice throughout the session. You won’t be expected to know anything in advance, and there’s no pressure to get everything perfect. The aim is to build confidence, develop some skills and have fun!
This course is ideal if you are:
Completely new to photography
Returning to photography after a break
Wanting a relaxed, supportive photography course rather than something overly technical
